Neighbours living near the site of the fatal crash have collected a petition which was presented to Northamptonshire County Council at the Council Meeting on Thursday, 28 February 2008 by local County Councillor Jane Hollis. The petition calls for measures to be taken to slow traffic including the possibility of a speed camera.

The Community are tired of drivers constantly exceeding the speed limit along Boughton Green Road endangering the lives of other motorists, pedestrians and residents and talk of accidents that were narrowly missed.

At a meeting on site with officers from both NCC and the police, residents' explained what it was like living on this main thoroughfare with screeching brakes and speeding motorists losing control of their vehicles.

Cllr Jane Hollis (Lib Dem), County Councillor for St David Division, said 'The amount of vehicles using this route has increased tremendously over the last 10 years and the standard of driving has deteriorated. After the sad death of this young man, it is not reasonable to stand by and do nothing to alleviate this problem.'
