Businesses are being asked for their views on how Northampton should look in the future

What should Northampton look and feel like in twenty years' time? The town is set to grow, that much is certain. But how should the addition of 31,500 new homes be managed to ensure Northampton becomes a prosperous 21st century 'market city'?

These are just some of the questions Northampton Borough Council will be asking local businesses at an Economic Regeneration Breakfast on Wednesday 21st November at 7:30am to 9.00am at the Guildhall.

This is an opportunity for local businesses find out about the plans for the economic regeneration of Northampton and help shape the future of the town. The breakfast aims to get businesses involved in the challenge of creating a promising future for Northampton where people will want to work, live and invest.

Cllr Richard Church, Portfolio Holder for Regeneration, said:

"Our town will grow substantially in the coming years. The key is to grow in a way that enhances the quality of life for people who already live here and those who will live here in the future.

"It's about building a sustainable town that offers people who live in, work in and visit Northampton an excellent experience. Successful towns are those which are at one with themselves places where people are able to shape their destiny and their communities."

This breakfast will also give local businesses an opportunity to meet the council's new Chief Executive David Kennedy and the Leader of the council Tony Woods. To book your place or find out more information please contact Katie Nial: knial@northampton.gov.uk or Tel: 01604 838668.
