Say boungiorno to the Italian Market4.52.54pm GMT Tue 30th Oct 2007
Shoppers in Northampton will be able to enjoy a taste of the continent this week as the Market Square becomes home to an Italian market. For three days an authentic Italian market will be joining Northampton's traditional market on the town's historic Market Square. Traders from across Italy will be bringing the foods, drinks, fashions crafts and other products and wares of their homeland to Northampton. Why not come into Northampton and enjoy some a taste of Italy in the Market Square on Thursday 1 to Saturday 3 November. Councillor Richard Church, Northampton Borough Council cabinet member for regeneration said: "The continental markets are always popular and bring something different to the Market Square. With sports taking over the Market Square during half-term and an Italian market this week, the entertainment area has become a great way to bring new events and attractions into the town centre. "It is great to see the Market Square offer something for everyone, attracting more people into the town to see what Northampton has to offer." The Italian market will be open from 9.30am to 5.30pm Thursday 1, Friday 2 and Saturday 3 November. For more information about what is happening at the market please contact Northampton Borough Council's market office on 01604 635257.
