Leader's blog now available online!9.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Tue 23rd Oct 2007
Visitors to Northampton Borough Council's website will now have an extra insight into life at the Guildhall. Every week Council Leader Tony Woods will be writing about issues affecting the town and the borough council. The new blog is a chance for you to read what the Leader of the Council has to say and email him your views. Councillor Tony Woods said: "This is an important step in bringing the borough council closer to the people of Northampton. Good communication is essential to good governance. As a council we need to be talking to everyone, whether they live in, work in or have an interest in the town. More importantly I hope this will trigger contributions on key issues from the public. After all, it is more important that we listen to the public. "Every week our website is visited more than 14,000 times. These are people who are interested in our town. We need to promote the positive and interesting things happening in Northampton. This is an opportunity for me to offer an insight into the big discussions and key topics being discussed at the Guildhall, and your chance to find out more and get involved." The first blog entry looks at the Grosvenor Centre development and is available now by visiting www.northampton.gov.uk/tonysblog.
