Dennis Meredith - "I would urge more people to do community clean ups in their area - it is a great way to get to know your neighbour as well as make a real difference to where you live"

Braving the cold wet weather on Saturday were Dennis Meredith (Thorplands & Southfields Lib Dem Focus Team), Lib Dem Councillors, local PCSO and local residents in a community clean up held in Great Gull Crescent and Micklewell Square in Southfields. This was the second community clean up organised by Dennis and the Thorplands Focus Team after a previous successful one held in Prentice Court in November.

"It is about getting out and making a practical difference to an area" said Dennis Meredith "It was very rewarding to help improve an area fro residents as well as to demonstrate that when it comes to it political representatives are prepared to get their hands dirty and do the work".

Northampton Borough Council supplied Dennis and the team with overalls, equipment, gloves and refuse bags - and then will take away the collected rubbish afterwards.

"I would urge more people to do community clean ups in their area - it is a great way to get to know your neighbour as well as make a real difference to where you live"continued Dennis
