"A chance to give young people the opportunity to talk directly about their views"

As part of Local Democracy Week Liberal Democrat Councillor Tony Woods will be visiting Kingsthorpe Grove Primary School. The visit will take place on Wednesday 19 October at 9am and will be a chance for the students to meet and talk with one of their ward councillor's.

The morning will begin with a harvest assembly, and Councillor Woods will then spend the morning meeting different age groups, talking with them and joining in with their lessons and projects.

Part of the morning will be a chance for students to talk about their area, how they feel about the town and their community, their likes and dislikes. Councillor Woods will spend some time discussing how children in India live and are educated. This will build on work the school has been involved in through their links with an Indian school.

Councillor Tony Woods said: "I am really looking forward to meeting the students and sharing some time with them. It is always a wonderful experience to introduce young people to local democracy and give them the chance to talk directly about their views."
